During the event, we were joined by the O&M Manager of the Kincardine floating wind farm, Juan Antonio López (Grupo COBRA), who shared his experience and lessons learned from the O&M of the wind farm located in Scotland. Juan Antonio highlighted the experience they had last year when replacing the generator of one of the turbines on-site; although it was a complex operation, both time and O&M costs were optimised. Furthermore, he emphasised the goal of consolidating Kincardine as a strategic hub for new innovative projects and announced plans for the installation of new platforms and hydrogen systems, alongside the development of a digital twin to extend the project's lifespan. The presentation provided in-depth details about the complex operations and the challenges faced during the three years of operation of the five floating turbines installed at Kincardine.

On the other hand, Jesús López (SAITEC Offshore) presented the experience and lessons learned after the first year of operation of DemoSATH at sea, highlighting the importance of effective data management and processing.

Additionally, the Basque Energy Cluster provided an overview of the current situation of the sector and gave an outline of the upcoming activities planned in the field of floating wind. During the session, significant importance was placed on the opinions of the companies, with an open debate in which they shared their views on the sector. From this exchange, it was concluded that, in the short term, the perception is negative due to the ambitious targets set for 2030 and the challenges this presents. However, in the medium and long term, the outlook becomes neutral to positive, reflecting that, despite possible delays, the sector is still seen as an opportunity with great potential.
