La sesión, celebrada el 11 de abril en Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC), permitió a los participantes conocer de primera mano las características y aspectos clave de estos dos instrumentos de apoyo al desarrollo de proyectos de innovación - especialmente dirigidos a las pymes - y contrastar ideas de proyectos con el equipo de Innovación de SPRI.

El pasado 2 de abril el Director General del Cluster de Energía, José Ignacio Hormaeche, intervino como “Keynote speaker” presentando los últimos avances de la iniciativa estratégica Net Zero Basque Industrial Supercluster (NZBISC) en la sesión sobre “Industrial electrification and decarbonization” dentro de la European Workshop week 2025 organizada por EPRI en Barcelona.

The session, organized in collaboration with Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa, UPV/EHU, Ikerlan, Tecnalia, and ZIV I+D, brought together 26 representatives from 12 organizations on March 28 at the Bizkaia Science and Technology Park (Zamudio). They learned firsthand about the main results and conclusions of the project, discussed its usefulness, and analyzed the planned future research lines

The General Director of the Basque Energy Cluster, José Ignacio Hormaeche, has spoken in various media outlets (ETB2, Radio Euskadi, Telenorte, El Correo, and Deia) in response to requests for information and inquiries from these media regarding the speech by Lehendakari Imanol Pradales, in which he called on the Spanish Government to commit decisively to increasing electrical capacity in Euskadi.

El pasado 21 de marzo se celebró en la sede del Ente Vasco de la Energía la reunión de constitución del Grupo de Trabajo, en el que participan 8 entidades asociadas además del propio Cluster de Energía: Arrecife Energy Systems, BiMEP, Carnegie Technologies Spain, EVE, IDOM, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, SPRI y Tecnalia, con el soporte de la consultora Minsait. En la sesión se presentaron los objetivos y el plan de trabajo que se ha puesto en marcha para llevar a cabo el análisis sobre el impacto que el sector de la energía de las olas ha tenido en Euskadi.

On March 17, the technical table of the Industrial Situation Observatory (OCI) was held, an event organized by SPRI and chaired by the new General Director of SPRI, Jon Ansoleaga, and the Director of Industry of the Basque Government, José Luis Azkue. In this annual meeting, the 17 clusters recognized by the Basque Government presented their activity reports for the previous year and their outlook for the current year.

On Friday, March 7, the BEC hosted a new meeting of the Industrial Decarbonization Forum, coordinated by SPRI and organized by the DCARTECH Cluster Alliance, led by the Basque Energy Cluster. This meeting was dedicated to analyzing the impact and potential benefits of the "Clean Industrial Deal," recently published by the European Commission, for the Basque industry, with the collaboration of the Q-Cero Alliance. The event, which brought together more than 140 representatives from 86 companies and entities, was closed by Mikel Jauregi, Minister of Industry, Energy Transition, and Sustainability of the Basque Government.

The meeting, held on 13th March, brought together 40 participants from 30 organisations and also addressed lessons learned from the O&M of Saitec Offshore’s DemoSATH project, coordinator of the Working Group

The General Director of the Basque Energy Cluster, José Ignacio Hormaeche, participated in the first meeting of the Industrial Defense Group held at the Kursaal on February 12, under the chairmanship of the Lehendakari and the Minister of Industry, Energy Transition, and Sustainability, Mikel Jauregi. Representatives from 9 companies associated with the Energy Cluster also attended: Iberdrola, Arteche, Ingeteam, EVE, Petronor, CAF, Mondragón Group, Tubacex, and Sidenor.

On 11 February, the inaugural meeting of the Working Group was held at the Basque Energy Cluster headquarters, with the participation of nine member companies. The meeting aimed to present the objectives and work plan for the year, followed by an initial training workshop on calculating the organisational carbon footprint for Scopes 1 and 2
