The Basque wind energy sector has travelled to Hamburg to present its industrial and technological capabilities as an exhibitor at WindEnergy Hamburg 2024, which was held from 24th to 27th September. The Energy Cluster organised a joint stand with the participation of 22 companies and entities representing the value chain of the wind energy sector, under the Wind Energy Basque Country brand and a further 8 companies attended the event thanks to the cluster’s organisation.
Wind Energy Hamburg has once again attracted more than 43,000 professionals from the sector from 100 countries, with more than 1,600 exhibiting companies. Over the four days of the event, Basque companies that form part of the wind energy value chain in the Basque Country have had the opportunity to highlight their technological capability and competitiveness in international markets. More specifically, 18 partner companies participated: Aeroblade, Alerion technologies, Antec, Carrrenewables, Dinnteco, Erreka, Euskalforging, Glual Energy, Hine, Idom, Jaso Elevation Systems, Kimua, Laulagun bearings, Nabla Wind Hub, Navacel Process Industries, Renogear, Sener and Saitec Offshore Technologies. The Basque Maritime Forum, along with the EgaMaster and Ferri, were also part of the joint stand. Furthermore, 6 Basque companies had their own stand at the event: Hydac, Iberdrola, Ingeteam, Liftra, Slingsintt and SpanSet. The following companies also attended: Amenabar, BiMEP, Composite Patch, Ditrel, GRI Renewable Industries, Gureak, Windtechnic and WindWaves. The Energy Cluster Association (ACE) also had its own stand with the central message "INDUSTRY FOR THE WIND ENERGY", in which it highlighted the different collaborative R&D projects in which it is involved. Namely, the HAZITEK projects: (MEGAWIND and INTEGRIA) and the EUROPEAN projects (WILLOW, ENERSHARE and ELBE EUROCLUSTER). The next event that will bring the wind energy sector together will be in Copenhagen, at WindEurope Copenhagen, between April 8 and 10, 2025, and the Basque Energy Cluster is already working on organising the event to offer Basque companies the chance to be part of the Wind Energy Basque Country joint stand.
