The Basque Energy Cluster organised a joint stand with the presence of 22 Basque companies under the brand name 'Wind Energy Basque Country' at the international event WindEurope, which brought together the main companies and entities in the wind energy sector in Europe from 23 to 25 November in Copenhagen.
During this edition of Copenhagen, 22 benchmark Basque companies in the wind energy sector made up the joint stand 'Wind Energy Basque Country': Euskal Forging, Saitec Offshore Technologies, Nautilus Floating Solutions, Hine Group, Ceit BRTA, Fosroc, Vicinay Marine, Aeroblade, Alerion, Meteo for Energy, GRI Renewable Industries, Haizea Wind, Kimua Engineering, HWS Concrete Towers, Arteche, Sling Supply International, Glual Energy, Antec, Saprem, Lumiker RDT Group, Erreka Fastening Solutions and Laulagun Bearings. The Basque Energy Cluster, as promoter of the stand, had its own space, where it showcased the capabilities of the Basque Country's wind energy value chain, as well as several collaborative R&D projects.
In the exhibition area, visitors to the joint stand had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the latest developments of Basque companies with regard to the challenges of the sector and the collaboration that exists between companies and knowledge agents to address them. In addition, 7 projects in which the Cluster collaborates have been exhibited in the Innovation Park set up in the exhibition area:
In the conference section of the event, it is worth highlighting the presentation given by Zuriñe Varela, from the company Xabet, in the session on Operation and Maintenance in the Offshore field, in which she explained the results of the DOCC-OFF project, led by the Basque Energy Cluster.
The next edition of WindEurope will be held in Bilbao, from 5 to 7 April 2022. This is the second time that this fair and congress will be held in the Basque Country. In the previous edition held in 2019, BEC hosted more than 300 exhibitors and nearly 9,000 visitors. In addition, over 40 Basque companies made up the joint stand 'Wind Energy Basque Country'. These figures are expected to be maintained next year, as the Basque Country is a leading industrial hub for the European wind industry, thanks to its highly competitive capacities and its excellent international positioning to provide services to wind farms all over the world.
