The webinar, which took place on June 9, 2022, presented the market analyses carried out in the first few months of the ESECA (European Sustainable Energy Cluster partnership for Africa) project in Sub-Saharan African countries focusing on renewable energy and smart grids. The analysis focused on the project's five target countries: Senegal, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania. The briefing was attended by a total of 64 participants.
The webinar started with a presentation of the ESECA project by the Basque Energy Cluster Association (ACE), including a short presentation by the partners involved in the consortium. As Ander González, the project coordinator, explained, the ESECA is an alliance made up of five European clusters from Spain, Germany, Italy and France funded by the European Commission, which aims to foster collaboration between European companies in the renewable energy and smart grid sector in order to develop a joint internationalisation strategy towards sub-Saharan African markets.
The briefing continued with a presentation of market reports on Senegal, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania prepared by the MINSAIT consultancy during the first phase of the project and the experience of two companies in the African countries:
To round off the briefing, the ESECA's next steps were announced and information was given on how to take part in the project's future activities.
