Euskadi Next 21-26 involves investing in 188 projects in 8 strategic areas that aspire to obtain €5,702.6 million in MRR funds, to activate a total investment of €13.135 million in the Basque Country over the coming 5 years. Of the projects, 16 have been prioritised as Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE in Spanish) in the Basque Country.

Three of the projects included in the programme were identified and developed by Basque Energy Cluster Working Groups in 2020, including:

• The Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C), a PERTE, submitted by Petronor at the Working Group on Hydrogen Technologies meeting on 16 September 2020. Over the following months, 33 members of the Working Group added a series of sub-projects and other contributions. 

• Another PERTE, the Offshore Wind Industrial and Technology Hub, was defined and suggested by the Working Group on Offshore Wind Power, led by Saitec and comprising 30 member organisations, over four meetings held throughout 2020.
  

• The Digital Transformation of Electric Grids project, included in the Urban Habitat section, aims to promote the development of the value chain by combining the driver effect of Iberdrola Distribution Eléctrica (i-DE) with the technological and industrial capacity of businesses and start-ups. It links directly with the goals and advances of the Working Group on Business Models of New Digital Solutions for Electricity Grids, promoted by Ariadna and involving 9 companies.
