The latest meeting of the Solar Power Sector Forum, hosted by the Basque Energy Cluster, was held on 19 November last. During the session, forum coordinator SENER outlined its vision of the sector, and a range of partnership opportunities for Basque companies were identified.
The first part of the session focused on the impact of the pandemic on the sector and the course it is expected to take, including an overview of the initiatives put in place by ACE and SENER's vision of the future of the industry as it moves towards decarbonisation. The meeting also analysed the opportunities presented by economic recovery aid plans, and discussed progress in relation to the planned attendance at Intersolar Europe in 2021. With regard to Basque solar energy sector outreach activities, the new Solar PV Basque Country brand was launched, with its corresponding catalogue.

During the closing discussion and debate, several participants expressed an interest in innovating in reducing solar plant operating expenses by means of digitalisation and the incorporation of smart processes.
