One of the main principles of the WindEurope, is the necessity of dialogue and discussion as key factor for the future wind energy development success. Therefore, during the three days, the Bilbao Exhibition center, it will be the home of 35 different conferences about “Delivering a clean economy for all Europeans” in which some specific issues will be covering such as: the roadmap to a wind-based energy system, the challenge of system integration and the delivering energy transition for all Europeans, what comes after Brexit, how to get the right framework for repowering and lifetime extension, the commercialization of floating offshore wind and filling the skills gaps in the energy wind industry, among others.

The whole program will be covering the last technological developments in turbines, digitalization, recycle and resource evaluation, storage and system integration and the key financial tendency analysis.

Though the conferences, it will look at how wind benefits local communities, at the people who work in the industry, and the challenges around manpower, skills and qualifications. And at the local and broader political support for the continued expansion of wind and take stock of what’s happening in the sector and what lies ahead for us.

From the Basque Energy Cluster, José Ignacio Hormaeche will be participate in two different sessions about: “Maintaining the competitiveness of the European supply chain” and “Next generation components for wind turbines”. In addition, some of our associates will be also part of the different conferences which are going to take place during the three days, such as Julio González, Iberdrola Renewable Energy CEO in Spain, Gregorio Acero of Siemens-Gamesa, Amaia González (IKERLAN) or Mikel Fernández Domínguez (TECNALIA).
