International
The Managing Director of the Basque Energy Cluster Association (ACE) took part as a speaker in the internationalisation session of the European Cluster Conference 2022, held on September 26 and 27 in Prague. In his speech, he presented the 2 European cluster alliances (ELBE and ESECA) that ACE is leading to promote and develop international activities with European companies. Both alliances are subsidised by the European Commission through the COSME “Clusters Go International” Programme.
The ELBE (European Leaders in Blue Energy) initiative was launched 5 years ago by ACE with the aim of promoting internationalisation activities in foreign markets for European companies in the marine renewable energy value chains: (fixed wind, floating wind, energy from waves and ocean currents) targeting the US, Canadian, Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese markets. The partners that make up ELBE are Pôle Mer Méditerranée (France), Offshore Vast (Sweden), Energy Cluster Denmark (Denmark), GCE Node (Norway), Blue Cluster (Belgium), AREG (Scotland, UK) and the Basque Energy Cluster Association, as the lead partner.
The ESECA (European Sustainable Energy Cluster partnership for Africa) project is an alliance made up of 5 European clusters: MEDEE (France), LE2C (Italy), MetaIndustry4 (Spain), ECPE (Germany) and ACE, which leads it. The project was launched in 2021 with the aim of positioning European companies in the renewable energy (photovoltaic solar and wind) and electricity network (smart grids and microgrids) sectors in selected countries in sub-Saharan Africa: Senegal, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.
