The Basque Energy Cluster, as promoter of 'Wind Energy Basque Country' and 'Offshore Wind Basque Country' brands have participated from 1 to 4 December 2020 in the first digital WindEnergy Hamburg Event to promote the different capabilities of the wind energy value chain, as well as the collaborative R&D EU projects and public-private collaboration within the energy sector in the Basque County.
The first digital WindEnergy Hamburg bringed the global wind industry together at a challenging time. For four days, three TV studios located in Brussels, Shoreham Port and Hamburg alternated in broadcasting a 35-hour programme of roughly 70 individual shows, reaching out to industry stakeholders in 100 countries. The WindTV live streams engaged with key industry experts as well as government stakeholders and society at large on all continents, despite the global pandemic.
The Basque Energy Cluster boosted the participation of the partners of the EU projects as part of the project’s dissemination activities, which are led by the Basque Energy Cluster. So we took part in the WindTv Premium with one conference session and in the WindTv OpenStream with 4 speaker slots during the digital event.

Four days of WindTV content showed a consistent message on how wind industry is resilient and ready to deliver the huge expansion the EU expects from us for the Green Deal and to contribute to economic recovery.
'Wind Energy Basque Country' and 'Offshore Wind Basque Country' powered by the Basque Energy Cluster have showcased how Basque companies are active in all the links of the wind energy value chain and cover the whole spectrum of it, from windfarm development to operation and maintenance through foundations manufacturing. Companies are involved in collaborative R&D projects in all major current technology challenges for the wind sector.
From the Basque Energy Cluster, we are convinced that no digital format will replace face-to-face interaction in the long run, so we are already organising our participation throughout the ‘Wind Energy Basque Country’ pavilion at WindEurope Electric City 2021 which is scheduled for 27-29 April next year.
