During the session, speakers from IDOM-OCEANTEC, EVE, BiMEP, TECNALIA, AZTI and the Basque Energy Cluster Association (ACE) shared the progress made in the sector in recent months
The session of the Sectoral Forum on wave Energy, coordinated by IDOM-OCEANTEC, took place as an online event on 5 November. Among the different presentations made, it is worth highlighting the progress of EuropeWave, the pre-commercial public procurement initiative led by EVE, or the update on the different converters that are being installed in BiMEP, especially the case of WELLO. In addition, TECNALIA carried out a complete review of the current state of the European funding framework with regards to ocean energies, and AZTI shared the progress of the WESE project, which is leading the EU's efforts to understand the impacts of wave energy devices. Finally, ACE summarised the main conclusions of a study carried out in collaboration with the REM master's degree on the analysis of market niches for the development of wave energy and presented the state of the main internationalisation activities for 2021.The event’s programme:
