CURRENT SITUATION
On 15 December last, TECNALIA project manager Eneko Arrizabalaga presented the BIDERATU project to more than 30 delegates from the fields of energy and mobility services in the Basque Country.
The Sector Forum, coordinated by EDINOR, is a meeting point intended to foster networking along the energy services sector value chain. Its primary purpose is to identify partnership opportunities by means of competitive, technological and market intelligence activities.
Eneko started out by positioning the BIDERATU project within the need to provide decision makers with informed criteria in order to define policies around decarbonising the economy. He explained that the aim of the project is to develop an integrated energy, economic, environmental and social (e3s) modelling system to support decision-making processes along the transition towards a circular, low-carbon, sustainable economy in the Basque Country by 2050.
He also outlined the Work Packages into which the project is organised in order to create an integrated tool for the disaggregated evaluation of the environmental, energy, social and economic impacts associated with possible energy system transition scenarios and for agile, ongoing reformulation of plans, strategies and key values over time.
