The economic interest group Naweco (Navarre Wind Energy Consortium) and the Basque Energy Cluster have entered into a collaboration agreement to identify shared interests, synergies and possible projects that will ultimately result in benefits for the companies associated to both organisations. Through this agreement, both bodies will conduct joint actions in the wind power sector.
The agreement's ultimate intention is to improve competitiveness and the international positioning of the associated companies, strengthening their presence in the wind power market and supporting their commitment to achieve leading positions in the offer of products or services, as well as addressing new market segments such as the offshore market, or different geographic regions.
Specifically, Naweco and the Cluster shall take actions to promote knowledge in both organisations and their companies and shall continuously explore cooperation opportunities in the areas of technological development, internationalisation and training. The companies related to Naweco may attend the Cluster's work meetings, accessing its competitive intelligence system and publications of the wind power sector, participating in shared stands at trade shows and events and receiving information on sessions, aid programmes or ongoing projects.
Naweco is an association that was created in 2012 and is formed by 8 companies from Navarre that work together to promote themselves abroad. All of the companies are involved in the different manufacturing phases of wind turbines. They are very consolidated in each of their sectors and are internationally present in the markets with highest potential in terms of wind turbines, such as Germany, China, India, Brazil and Spain. Their joint experience and the broad portfolio of products and services allow them to increase competitiveness, adapting to their customers’ needs and offering a comprehensive project management.
The Basque Energy Cluster is made up of the leading companies in the energy sector located in the Basque Country (energy operators, component and equipment manufacturers), agents of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network and public administration bodies involved in the energy field. It is a non-profit organisation which was set up at the end of 1996 and currently made up of over one hundred companies and entities active in the energy sector.
