The more than 12,000 visitors who attended the event were able to visit the stands of the 45 companies that took part at the joint stand under the “Wind Energy Basque Country” brand, where international meetings, presentations on various R&D projects related to the wind energy sector and relaxed networking moments with local gastronomy took place.
Over the three days of the event, the Basque Energy Cluster also organised various technical conferences and side events with the aim of showcasing the companies that are part of the wind energy value chain in the Basque Country, highlighting their technological capabilities, competitive positioning and broad presence in international markets.
The Basque Energy Cluster's own stand also hosted various activities that made it a meeting point for companies and organisations from the sector. On Thursday 21, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Basque Energy Cluster and “Norwegian Offshore Wind”, a Norwegian player in the offshore wind sector, with the aim of facilitating collaborations between companies from Norway and the Basque Country.
Moreover, each day of the fair featured an R&D project for which the Basque Energy Cluster is involved in communication and dissemination activities. On Wednesday 20, Nautilus Floating Solutions presented the Integria project, the aim of which is to investigate structural INTEGRity in floating wind turbines by means of AI-based models. On Thursday 21, the Ceit Technology Centre presented the Willow project, which focuses on holistic, integrated digital tools to extend the useful life and profitability of offshore wind farms. And finally, on Friday 22, Erreka presented the Megawind project, the main aim of which is to develop innovations in the design and manufacture of monopiles, the transition part and the connection system between the two.
The three presentations took place in a very relaxed atmosphere surrounded by sector professionals from all over the world, where a few glasses of cider and catering consisting of pintxos made for a pleasant networking session. As part of the talent programme, the Basque Energy Cluster stand was also the focus of guided tours for students on Friday, where people from the Basque Energy Cluster introduced them to the wind energy value chain in the Basque Country and then took them on a tour of the stands of Basque companies.
