On September 25th, PLATOON project was presented to 22 stakeholders from the wind energy field in the framework of the kickoff meeting of the Wind Turbine Data Sharing Working Group, that took place in Cámara de Comercio de Gipuzkoa (Chamber of Commerce) in San Sebastian.
The WG, coordinated by Xabet start-up company, intends to provide wind turbine component manufacturers with access to the data required to operate wind farms, so that they can obtain value from them and improve their competitiveness. Wind turbine component manufacturers, software companies and agents from the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network will actively participate in the group.
José I. Hormaeche, Managing Director of the Basque Energy Cluster, presented PLATOON concept, objectives and expected outcomes as part of the project’s industrial dissemination activities, which are led by the Basque Energy Cluster. The project scope is closely linked to the WG objectives and expectations, especially regarding the use and analysis of the available data for improved efficiency, operation and maintenance purposes, which is a key issue for the companies that attended the meeting.
During the presentation, it was mentioned the relevance that PLATOON has as a European project and that was used as a reference for other projects in which Basque companies participate.
“PLATOON project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 872592”.
