Basque Energy Cluster (ACE), working with IBIL, has drafted an Expression of Interest with the title “Charging Infrastructure, Innovation and Electrification of the Vehicle Pool” for the Ministry of Ecological Transition (MITECO) tender. The Expression of Interest lists 54 Basque Energy Cluster members, including 25 SMEs, to participate in the corresponding projects.
It is headed by the Association of Electrical Power Distributors (CIDE), which has set ambitious targets for electric charge point rollout in the cities and Autonomous Regions where the small electricity distributors who form part of the association operate.
As part of its Plan for Recovery, Transformation and Resilience (PRTR), the Spanish Government has set a target of 100,000 charge points and 250,000 electric vehicles for 2023, in addition to developing the value chain, new business models and new dynamics to favour the progressive electrification of transport, reduced emissions and compliance with energy and climate goals.
To guarantee the efficacy of the plan, MITECO has launched the tender to define the situation of the market, identify possible organisations (businesses, associations, consortia, public bodies, etc.) interested in developing projects and new lines of action, and prioritise the most important aspects of said projects and actions.
Along these lines, ACE will continue to provide support in drawing up collaborative initiatives and projects with the aim of giving companies access to Next Generation EU funds, using mechanisms to be set up over the coming months.
