Francisco Javier Diez, Coordinator of the Infrastructure area of the Tekniker Foundation, presented the progress of the DAEKIN project at the 17th Conference on Maintenance in the Energy Sector that took place on 5 and 6 October in Bilbao. The conference was attended by all kinds of leading companies in the value chain of the energy sector, producers and service providers, who shared their most current practices and experiences by presenting real success stories that are allowing them to meet their business objectives in this field.
Tekniker participated in the 17th Conference on Maintenance in the Energy Sector organised by the AEM (Spanish Maintenance Association) where it presented the DAEKIN project in which it collaborates with the ACE (Basque Energy Cluster Association). Francisco Javier Diez, coordinator of the infrastructure area of the Tekniker Foundation, explained the context of the project, its objectives, and the technological developments that are being worked on. The DAEKIN project 'Secure digital collaboration between companies without loss of data sovereignty - Energia Datuak Konpartitzeko Ekimena' aims to define the architecture of a data sharing platform in the energy sector and implement it for the use case of predictive maintenance of offshore wind turbines. The project is led by the TECNALIA technology centre with the collaboration of IKERLAN and TEKNIKER, with the participation of two business R&D units (HISPAVISTA LABS and GLUAL INNOVA) and ACE as a supply/demand intermediary agent. The architecture of the proposed platform is based on three main approaches: architectures based on the 'Datalake' concept; IDSA (International Data Space Association) architecture that guarantees data sovereignty for secure and reliable data sharing; and distributed processing architectures, such as Edge Computing, Blockchain and Federated Machine Learning (FML) techniques. These architectures will be implemented for the use case of offshore wind power, with the design of a platform that allows the management and analysis of data generated in sensorised components of wind turbines located in marine environments. In this way, a secure technological base will be established where the exploitation of the data can be done with guarantees, so that companies from all segments of the wind value chain can improve their competitiveness through improvements in design, reduction of costs in operation and maintenance or the offer of new digital services to their customers (reports, life extension, aftermarket intelligence, servitisation, etc.).
DAEKIN (Datuak Konpartitzeko Ekimena) is a Type I ELKARTEK project, funded by the Basque Government's 2020 call.
